What I Ate in Malaysia While Working on My Next Korean Learning Novel (and Why I Got Sick)

I’m currently traveling in Malaysia while working on ideas for my next novel for Korean learners.

But today was a really tough day—I had an upset stomach.

The moment I woke up, I ran to the bathroom. And I kept running to the bathroom all day.

I couldn’t eat anything today and only drank water. I couldn’t leave my place at all.

What could be the culprit that did this to me? Let me list what I ate yesterday.

A latte filled with coconut milk

Tofu, eggplant, vegetables, and rice

Pineapple-flavored chocolate

BTW, I look NOTHING like this right now.

I look like I just survived something. 💀

Lamb, a boiled egg, and rice

I have no idea which one is the culprit. They all tasted really good when I ate them.

I’m in Malaysia now, and I eat only local food while traveling. Maybe my stomach was shocked by these “very new” foods?

I came here to get ideas for my next novel—written specifically for Korean learners—but I ended up getting sick instead.

Should I write a mystery thriller about a woman who dies from severe abdominal pain, and someone investigating the real cause of her death?

Anyway, for today, water and toilet paper were my best friends.
