How Much Does Sunspot Removal Cost in Korea?

얼마 전, 저는 이 인스타그램 포스트에서 팔로워분들에게 질문을 하나 했습니다.
A little while ago, I asked my followers a question in this Instagram post.
“흑자를 뺄까요? 말까요?”
“Should I remove my sunspots or not?”
(By the way, you don’t need to know 흑자. I only learned this dermatology term recently myself, and my not-so-into-beauty friends didn’t know it either. I’ll just loosely translate it as “sunspots.”)
저는 오른쪽 눈 옆에 흑자가 두 개 있는데 너무 보기 싫어요. 그래서 피부과에 가서 물었어요.
I have two sunspots next to my right eye, and I really don’t like how they look. So I went to a dermatologist and asked about them.
“이 흑자 두 개를 빼는 데 얼마 들어요?”
“How much would it cost to remove these two sunspots?”
피부과 직원이 저한테 사진을 먼저 찍어야 한다고 말했어요. 그래서 저는 이상한 기계에 얼굴을 넣고 사진을 찍었어요. 그런 다음 상담을 받았어요.
The staff told me they needed to take pictures first. So I put my face into a strange machine and had my picture taken. Then I had a consultation.
그런데… 흑자 두 개를 빼는 데 백육십만 원이 든다는 거예요!
And then… they told me it would cost 1,600,000 won to remove just two sunspots!
😱😱😱😱 About $1,200 😱😱😱😱
저는 가격을 듣자마자 피부과를 나왔습니다. 😭
The moment I heard the price, I walked straight out of the clinic.
그리고 바로 화장품 가게에 가서 컨실러를 샀습니다.
And then I immediately went to a cosmetics store and bought a concealer.
저는 이렇게 5달러로 흑자 문제를 대충 해결했습니다.
And this is how I more or less solved my sunspot problem with just $5.
What would YOU do?
1) $1,200를 쓰고 흑자를 없앤다.
1) Spend $1,200 to remove the sunspots.
2) $5짜리 컨실러로 흑자를 가린다.
2) Cover the sunspots up with a $5 concealer.
